About buro Basalt
Eric Gommans
Basalt is fine-grained extrusive and geometric rock. Shaped by nature and surrounding, it is impressive in it's simplicity. With large formations built from small columns, scale and perspective are crafted in unison.
My approach is shaped by nature, context and perspective. Working in the Netherlands, Belgium and Iceland has refined the style and added depth.
Buro Basalt is about my designs which focus on human-scale architecture grounded in simplicity, nature, and people.
To achieve this, client and architect need to jointly invest in the project through ideas, discussion creativity and open mindedness.
Let's create homes and interiors that make you smile. Spaces that move you. Together.

Services
Architecture - homes
Homes are at the heart of what we do, focussed on human scale and experience. We want to jointly explore and develop the perfect place for you and your family to call home.
Design - interior
Interiors can play with space, form space, add functionality, add your personal touch, bring warm materials and so much more. They shape our experience and guide our movement through space.
Other - concepts
Exploring other themes and focussing on people's experience of different spaces and buildings is our way of R&D (recreation & design).
We focus on designing with and for our clients
